1930 Singapore cigarette advertisement

“Coming from England, they’re always fresh.”

I think this advertisement from 1930 needs to be seen in relation to the one below on “Tobacco Nationalism.” Sure, you can smoke Chinese-made cigarettes if you want, it seems to be saying, but do you know what you are really smoking and where those cigarettes have been?
