Among the many musical compositions that Norodom Sihanouk composed was a piece called “Glory to Our Arab and African Brothers.”
It would appear that this was a piece that Sihanouk composed while he was living in Beijing and Pyongyang in the 1970s, when he was allied with the Khmer Rouge.
Here is a re-creation of this song and an English translation of the lyrics.
Glory to our Arab and African brothers
Who struggle with extraordinary courage
against imperialism
And who unite to drive the enemy out of
their continent.
Thanks to our Arab and African brothers
Who support fully the Khmer revolution,
With the purpose of defeating the
imperialist aggressors.
The Cambodian, Arab and African peoples
are close friends
Whose unity is indestructible,
And with this unity
They serve the cause of liberation
(of the third world).
