Power and Knowledge in Southeast Asia

My colleague, historian Rommel Curaming of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), has recently published a new book entitled Power and Knowledge in Southeast Asia: State and Scholars in Indonesia and the Philippines (Routeledge 2019).

This book is about two official history projects: one under Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos and the other under Indonesian President Suharto. Rommel examines the contexts in which these two projects took place and the contexts in which scholars decided to participate. The conclusions that reaches are complex, sophisticated and fascinating.

If you are ready to be intellectually stimulated, then please take a look at what Rommel had to say.
