I found this advertisement in a newspaper from Burma, The Nation, for the year 1962. A few years ago I bought some shirts from the Japanese clothing story, Uniqlo, which were called “dry” because they supposedly allowed sweat to dry quickly and therefore were good to wear in hot weather.

Little did I know that the Japanese have been producing “air-conditioned clothing” for decades now. . .
