The 14th Engaging With Vietnam Conference will be held in Hue (1-6 August 2023).

The overall theme of the conference is “Living with Heritage, (Re)Creating Heritage: Vietnam and the World,” and there is no better place to engage with that theme than in the culturally and historically rich city of Hue.

The conference is jointly organized by Engaging With Vietnam, the Department of Culture and Sports under Thua Thien Hue People’s Committee, the International School – Hue University, and the University of Arts – Hue University, and with the assistance of The Lighthouse Hai Dang Studio & Events and ACCESS design lab.

We have just returned from a week of preparatory work in Hue and there have been some wonderful developments. First, we are deeply honored to have been granted permission to hold the main academic events of the conference at the historic Quốc Học, as well as to hold an outdoor event on the grounds of the elegant An Định Palace (Cung An Định). Indeed, at EWV #14, we will truly be “living with heritage.”

There are many academic, cultural, and artistic keynote sessions, events and activities that are being planned. It should prove to be an enriching six days in Hue, and we look forward to seeing you there.
